With the Win in the patent infringement case in California US, everyone thought that the Apple and Samung will rest a bit. Unfortunately, it isn't happening as Apple filed a revised lawsuit in the US court which now includes the popular handset Samsung Galaxy S3 as well.
Apple filed their complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California which is a revision of their initial complain that they filed in February regarding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The complaint is different from the one in which Apple won the case. This patent infringement lawsuit was originally aimed at the Galaxy Nexus, Google backed device. The February patent infringment case included in total 17 devices that were accused to ‘stealing from Apple’.
This new complain adds four new phones to the list of ‘copycat’ (Typical Apple Phrase) phones by Samsung including the flagship Galaxy S3 which stormed the smartphones market when it arrived in May. The patent includes few variants of the S3 and the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1 as well.
Other devices in the list which infringe Apple's patent rights: Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II - T-Mobile, Galaxy S II - AT&T, Galaxy Nexus, Illusion, Captivate Glide, Exhibit II 4G, Stratosphere, Transform Ultra, Admire, Conquer 4G, and Dart smartphones, the Galaxy Player 4.0 and Galaxy Player 5.0 media players, and the Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablets."
Apple has been focused getting bans on almost all the Samsung Devices, ( Lucky Apple don’t make TVs). They got a ban on Galaxy Nexus from the court but it is currently lifted due to a appeal in a higher Court and they also made a cheap attempt to get the Samsung Galaxy SIII banned as the phone’s sales crossed 10 million units.
Apple is a dominant smartphone manufacturer in the US but it has surely destroyed its reputation among the consumers with its ‘Bully’ attitude. While there are many companies that have copied Apple, its Samsung that Apple is after, why? because Samsung is the top manufacturer of Smartphones overtaking Nokia this year
While Apple are playing the patent infringment game with Samsung, it is a possibility that Apple might be sued by Samsung if Apple try to release their next Smartphone in 4G LTE, a technology which is almost completely patented by Samsung.
