LG finally releases Android ICS 4.0 for LG Optimus 2X

After a never ending saga of uncertainty, LG has finally released Android Ice Cream Sandwich Update for its LG Optimus 2x. The Update comes to the market after its source code was released in October. The update can be downloaded from LG update tool.

LG has started rolling out the ICS Update for its European users. The Update comes as we speculated it in September.

The Update will bring the most famous version of the Android Mobile Operating System on the LG Optimus 2x. Not only will there be a lot more apps and features, but several improvements in keyboard and Notifications.

LG has released the update extremely late. With Android 4.2 Now coming in Google Nexus devices, it couldn’t get any more  late. Customer were clearly not satisfied with LG’s Delay. A Customer writes
LG mobile phones are like running Windows 95 on an i7 machine. Why bother to make hardware which are really good, just to be let down by out of date OS LG?

Although the release comes as a relief of Optimus 2x Users, they should not expect any more updates for the Dual Core LG Device.

The LG Optimus 2x device has a Nvidia's dual-core 1 GHz Tegra 2 AP20H at its heart which is considerable for many apps. The Phone has been deprived of the ICS for a long Time and this makes the update much less exciting.

While the update is coming for the unlocked versions only, the Carrier Phone customers should not get impatient (after all they have waited so long) as the Update will be out soon through carriers as well.

The US Version of the Optimus 2X still awaits the Android ICS 4.0 and there is no news yet regarding the update.
