Wondering what is this doing on The Gadget Code? Well this is the Dish whose name would have been on every developers lip at the Google I/O. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen. Google’s current activities shows that Google I/O will host a new Android OS, but not Key Lime Pie. It will be Android Jelly Bean 4.3.
This has been confirmed by Artem Russakovskii from Android Police who has investigated into the matter to reach to this conclusion.
The server log can be used to the build of the OS being used by a smartphone. Artem noticed devices including Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 running on a build Android 4.3 JWR23B never seen previously. (The first and last letter of the build make the name of the build i.e. in this instance, J & B make Jelly Bean) To make sure, he traced back the server logs and guess whose IPs he ended up finding? Google Employees!
There have also been instances of a commenter on Chromium Code site using the same build of Android.
Although the above two points might not seem strong enough for some people, its still food for thought. Artem mentions that Google doesn’t assign build names to any test OS. Only the confirmed versions of the OS get this building no. which is a significant support point for the argument.
We have to wait for Google I/O for complete details.
