Nokia announce April 24th Event: Asha series to get another Handset

This image released by Nokia could be pointing to a new QWERTY equipped featurephone
While Samsung and HTC have been working hard to release their flagships phones in the early part of 2013, Nokia has been particularly quite. After almost 4 months, Nokia has announced an event to release a cellphone on April 24th 2013 at 7 am GMT.

The event will take place on Wednesday Morning and will include an announcement followed by a Q&A session from Nokia’s Neil Broadley, Mobile Team Nokia.

The Upcoming handset shows yellow and black combination for a cellphone with a corner button found in QWERTY phones. Adding to that is the round edge of the Phone  which is not present in any of the Lumia Series. Then there is the fact the Mr. Neil is not part of the Lumia Series team which leads us to the conclusion that Nokia will be releasing an Asha Phone.

This might be a smart move by Nokia because most of its sales is from its midrange phones among which Asha is considered to be a Hot Cake. Recently Nokia saw a decline in its sales mainly because the Asha series was not being focused upon.

Considering the Leaks regarding upcoming Nokia Phones, we can expect the set to arrive with a 5-mega pixel rear camera, bigger display, changeable back covers, a home button underneath the screen and vibrant colors.
