Samsung is currently very busy with the distribution of its flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S4 in North America with the device becoming available on 7 different Carriers in the US only. Despite of the schedule, Samsung has added another tablet to the galaxy Tab family. Samsung today announced a mid-range 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
The tablet was announced at Samsung website today and it will hit the shelves starting from May (Wi-Fi Version) to June (3G Version).
The Samsung tablet is clearly a mid-ranger with modest specs. Under the hood, it has a 1.2 GHz. Dual Core Processor supported by 1 GB Ram. The device comes with 8/16GB of internal storage option and it has a MicroSD option to expand the storage (upto 64GB).
The 7-inch screen of the Galaxy Tab 3 has a 1024x600 pixel screen at 169ppi which is clearly disappointing compared to other 7-inch tab supporting much higher resolutions. A Minor compensation is that the screen has 1080p video playback.
The Camera package is pretty standard with 3MP back shooter and a 1.3 MP front shooter for the Tab 3. Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the only good thing about the device is that it has a strong 4000 mAh. battery to easily last more then a day.
Samsung is clearly targeting the cheap tablets market with this Tab, which has been ruled largely by budget tabs. With no 4G LTE support, this tab might be focused on Asian and Middle Eastern market. Nevertheless, it will still come to US.
