Nissan unveils world’s fastest Electric Car: Hits the 300 kmh mark

Car manufacturers all around the world are focused on making vehicles more clean and less reliant on conventional fuel. Working in this direction, Nissan has come up with the idea of mixing Clean Tech. with pleasure by announcing Nissan ZEOD RC, World’s Fastest Electric Car.

The Car was unveiling just before the Le Mans 24 hour competition and immediately it got invited for the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Garage 56 entry in next year's race; that's essentially a spot on the grid held for vehicles with new and/or cutting edge technology.

Nissan ZEOD RC (Zero Emission On Demand) is set to come with both petrol and Electric Options and can reach upto 300 kmph (186.4 mph) making it the fastest electric car.

Nissan’s Executive VP Andy Palmer stated,

“There are multiple options we are investigating. A Zero Emission on Demand option where the driver can switch between electric and petrol-powered drive is a future direction for road cars, so that will be tested in addition to pure electric power and other new technologies that we still have under development.”

Nissan will be working round the clock till next year to prep its car for the competition and meanwhile it will use its partnership with youtube to release details of the ZEOD RC to maintain the hype.

  1. I'm not really sure why it's necessary for this car to exist at all... but hey, it looks awesome. It almost looks like what they used to say a car "from the future" would look like in the year 2000. Needs to be more globular and spaceship-like for that though.
