Smartphone development is a surreal business. If it’s a trend, everyone will follow it and bring forth their variants. After Apple’s Siri and Google Now, Microsoft has also developed its very own virtual assistant for its Windows Phone devices. Its named Cortana!
While the news of Cortana has been around for a while, few details of the Microsoft Virtual assistant were leaked to The Verge.
Named After the Halo game series, the virtual assistant is a female voice just like Apple Siri. Cortana doesn’t have a face but appears only as a circle, much like Apple’s girl. It has been characterized as it can be taught to call you by your name or a nickname and you have the right to change her name too!
An essential part of Cortana is its ability to save information and data in a Notebook system. Notebook will allow the digital assistant to access information such as personal information, behaviors, location data, reminders, and contact information. Cortana will also be able to track flights or other mentions in emails, allowing it to generate notifications..
Cortana will arrive with Windows Phone 8.1
